Dancers who love Hip Hop
(and everybody else)

When planning music for your wedding reception think about the effect created on each guest. It is a good idea when planning the itinerary and programing music to feature select music at certain times for certain guests and then kick it up later for the dancers who love Hip Hop.

As a DJ Music and MC I try to get everyone involved and not kill off 70% of the audience by launching into Hip-Hop too early in the evening; it depends on the audience.

In the planning process months before, the Bride and Groom are consulted, the audience is considered and music programed for the greatest appeal. Some listeners just don't like Hip-Hop; well Ok!

The responsibility of playing the right music at the right time lies with the DJ; judgment and timing is the key to guests really enjoying themselves.

The After Party

If there are strong feelings against Hip-Hop and strong feelings for Hip-Hop, think about possibly having two events; the "wedding reception" and the "after party."

It may be that the wedding reception is a formal and elegant affair with a live band. Then, the after party is for the younger guests; dress down casual with a DJ playing Hip-Hop late into the night. Two receptions in one night. Two events for two different sets of guests.

Usually guests dance to just about anything if it has a good beat and everyone enjoys the party.
